“I love corduroy jeans as well as vertical-striped jeans. Both are a fun switch from plain old denim. They can be slimming so long as the stripes aren’t too chunky.”

FRAGRANCE

TOM FORD: TOUCH POINT COLLECTION

From now on you can obtain your favorite fragrances from the Tom Ford collection – Black Orchid Eau de Parfum, Noir Pour Femme and Velvet Orchid in special Touch Point flacons which enable application of the perfume directly on the skin, in the amount desired, in order to control intensity of the fragrance. The new flacons are very elegant, made of black glass (Black Orchid EDP, Noir Pour Femme) and dark purple metallic color (Velvet Orchid) with stoppers in gold that accentuate the extravagance of the compositions.
BLACK ORCHID EAU DE PARFUM was introduced in 2006 and it mesmerized its fans with a composition blending truffles, dark chocolate, patchouli, orchids, spices…. is a seductive oriental chypre with very rich and dark chords.
NOIR POUR FEMME was launched in 2015, as part of a pair with the edition for men, Noir. Extravagance and sensuality of the composition is provided by an oriental-gourmand blend of vanilla, kulfi candy, amber and sandalwood, along with delicate floral and sparkling touches of neroli, jasmine and rose.
VELVET ORCHID was presented in 2014 as an olfactive association of the most popular vamp perfume of the house, Black Orchid. Aromas of rum and honey are mixed with orchids, suede, vanilla, intense rose oil and resins by creating the imaginary impression of presence of black orchid. The seductive power of Black Orchid rises to “uber-femininity” in this composition, according to Tom Ford.

KARL LAGERFELD: VISIONS OF FASHION

On the occasion of Pitti Immagine Uomo 90, on June 14 in Florence, Palazzo Pitti hosted “KARL LAGERFELD – Visions of Fashion”, a photography exhibition curated by Eric Pfrunder and Gerhard Steidl, which represents Karl Lagerfeld’s entire photographic oeuvre and includes many unpublished works.
The exhibition – that will be on show until October 23rd – is made possible thanks to the recent agreement of collaboration with the Gallerie degli Uffizi signed by the Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery, with the support of Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana and Pitti Immagine.
“KARL LAGERFELD – Visions of Fashion” is a special anthological exhibition celebrating Karl Lagerfeld’s diverse and elegant approach to photography: photos from fashion shoots published in the world’s most important fashion magazines – among them different editions of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Numéro and V Magazine – and others inspired by classical mythology such as the series “Le Voyage d’Ulysse” and “Daphnis and Chloe”. The show assembles an extraordinary collection of more than 200 images created using a variety of techniques including daguerreotypes, platinum prints, Polaroid transfers, resinotypes, screen-prints and digital prints.
The exhibition will start from the grand staircase, Scalone del Moro, and wind its way through the rooms of the Galleria Palatina, the Sala Bianca and the two rooms of the Appartamenti degli Arazzi in a continuous dialogue between the sizes of the pictures and the exhibition areas: from the smaller, subtle images to be shown in the Galleria Palatina, almost as if to punctuate the tour of the masterpiece-filled museum, to the imposing pictures in the Appartamenti degli Arazzi that converse with the beautiful tapestries on display.
As to the Sala Bianca, where Italian fashion was born in 1951, the curators have selected fashion photos by Karl Lagerfeld printed on lightweight paper that will flutter from the ceiling, recalling the lithe movements of models on the runway.
“KARL LAGERFELD – Visions of Fashion” is part of the “Special Program for the 2016 Pitti Immagine Fairs”, promoted by the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana with a grant from the Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico – Ministry for Economic Development and Agenzia ICE – in support of Italian trade fairs and Made in Italy.
